Job Overview

As a Science Teacher, you will deliver high‑quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4; experience in Key Stage 5 is desirable and can be incorporated into the timetable. The role requires enthusiasm, strong knowledge of the science curriculum, and the ability to inspire students to reach their potential.

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, effective science lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
• Teach across biology, chemistry, and physics, with the option to specialise.
• Assess, monitor, and record student progress, giving constructive feedback.
• Develop a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages active learning.
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations, ensuring they achieve target grades.
• Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and ongoing professional development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and strategies.
• Attend department meetings, parent evenings, and other school events as required.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of science education developments and best practices.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent; a degree is required.
• Degree in a relevant science subject (biology, chemistry, physics).
• Experience teaching science at Key Stages 3 and 4;
  Key Stage 5 experience is desirable.
• Strong classroom management skills, able to engage and motivate students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and passion for teaching science.
• Right to work in the UK.
