We are currently seeking an Associate – Lone Worker Support to join our Adult & Community Learning & ESOL department at The Bedford College Group.

As an Associate – Lone Worker Support, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Student Assessment & Enrolment Support
    - Assist with ESOL interview and assessment sessions, provide initial assessments, offer course guidance, and support learners through the application and enrolment process.
  • Learner Advice & Progression
    - Track ESOL enquiries, liaise with curriculum teams to progress applications, and provide learners with timely information, support and guidance.
  • Learning Centre & Lone Worker Support
    - Support staff delivering services at Kettering Learning Centre, helping to maintain a safe, effective and compliant learning environment.
  • Safeguarding, Equality & Compliance
    - Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and ensure all activities comply with college policies and statutory requirements.
  • Professional Development & Health & Safety
    - Adhere to health and safety procedures, participate in training and development activities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of learner support services
About You
  • Qualifications & ESOL Knowledge - GCSE English and Maths (Level
    2) or equivalent, with a good educational background and experience of working or studying within the ESOL community.
  • Learner Support & Guidance
    - Ability to provide high-quality Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG), support learner assessments and interviews, and contribute to a positive learner journey.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills
    - Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse learners and create a welcoming, inclusive learning environment.
  • Safeguarding & Equality Awareness
    - Understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity principles, with a commitment to promoting the welfare of learners and maintaining safe learning environments.
  • Professional Approach & Flexibility
    - Self-motivated, enthusiastic and reliable, with the ability to work independently, support ESOL adult learners, and work flexibly, including Saturdays.
What is an Associate?

Associates work on a short-term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services, and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate Agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you.
