About

The Role

We are currently seeking aTrainee Lecturer in Counselling to join our Care, Childcare and Counselling department at The Bedford College Group.

  • Qualifications
    - Relevant qualification in subject specialism, Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE/Cert Ed/Diploma in Education and Training) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Experience
    - Teaching and counselling experience, able to teach up to level 4, extensive experience as a counsellor.
  • Skills
    - Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, prioritization, classroom management, numeracy, and IT skills; ability to handle sensitive data confidentially.
  • Attributes
    - Ability to work alone and in a team, adapt to changing workload demands, meet deadlines, build professional relationships, attention to detail, work in line with College values, policies, and procedures.
  • Flexibility
    - Ability to travel to all campus locations, adapt working hours, and maintain professional boundaries with children and young people.
About You
  • Qualifications / Training
    - Relevant qualification in subject specialism (one level above the level to be taught), Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE/Cert Ed/Diploma in Education and Training) or willingness to work towards one, current safeguarding training, equality and diversity training.
  • Knowledge / Experience
    - Excellent knowledge and understanding of teaching counselling, recent experience of teaching counselling, extensive experience as a counsellor, able to teach up to level 4, experience of embedding innovation best practices.
  • Skills
    - Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, prioritization, classroom management, numeracy, IT skills (Microsoft Office), mentoring teaching colleagues, experience with Moodle or similar platforms.
  • Attributes
    - Ability to handle sensitive data confidentially, work alone and in a team, adapt to changing workload demands, meet deadlines, build professional relationships, attention to detail, work in line with College values, policies, and procedures.
