We are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a manufacturing/engineering environment in Kettering on a contract basis.

The role will involve a mixture of site surveying, mechanical design and 3D CAD, supporting factory layouts, pipework and machinery projects.

Key responsibilities:

Survey existing and new pipework runs and produce relevant documentation.
Survey and design machine guarding, ensuring designs are practical and compliant with relevant engineering standards.
Produce 3D models for new factory layouts and skids.
Produce 2D plan drawings of factory layouts.
Prepare supporting technical documentation.
Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver practical design solutions.

Ideal background:

Mechanical Design Engineering experience.
Strong 3D CAD experience.

Experience with pipework, machine guarding, factory layouts or skids would be advantageous.
Good understanding of engineering standards and technical documentation.
