Finance Manager / Financial Controller Annual Salary: £55,000 - £65,000

Dover Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, Office Based We are offering a rare opportunity for a Finance Manager / Financial Controller to take full, autonomous control of the finance function within a successful, long-standing logistics business. This role is not just about maintaining the numbers; it's about shaping how finance supports the wider business, partnering with senior leadership, and building a function that leaves a lasting legacy.
If you're looking for a role where your impact is visible and valued, this position offers both ownership and influence in a fast-paced, operationally complex environment. Day-to-day of the role:
Lead the finance function day-to-day. Own the monthly close process, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and strong financial control. Lead all core finance activities, including management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management. Provide commercial insight to senior leadership, supporting decision-making across the business. Oversee multi-entity financial control, ensuring consistency and accuracy. Manage VAT, payroll and statutory compliance across UK and European jurisdictions.
Improve and strengthen processes and controls. Act as a trusted finance partner to MDs and operational teams. Line manage a Purchase Ledger Clerk, ensuring smooth transactional finance delivery. Required Skills &
Qualifications:
Experience in a Finance Manager / Financial Controller or similar role, within the logistics | transport | freight industry - essential. Strong experience in EU VAT and tax compliance, including the preparation and submission of VAT returns and ensuring compliance across multiple European jurisdictions - essential. Proven background in reporting, forecasting and cash flow management. Commercially minded with the ability to influence and add value.
Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working on-site in a dynamic environment. Benefits:
