Position: Business Support & Administration Taxi Licensing Service Support Officer Northamptonshire Up to £15.06 / hour

Taxi Licensing Service Support Officer

Pay: £15.06.

Hours:

37 hours per week (part-time 22.5 hours may be considered).

Location:

Kettering (office-based with some remote working). Contract Length: 12 weeks.

Start Date:

ASAP.

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council for a dedicated Taxi Licensing Service Support Officer to support their Environmental Health / Regulatory Services team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy service and play a key role in ensuring taxi licensing processes are delivered efficiently and in line with legislation.

Key responsibilities
  • Processing applications for taxi and private hire licences
  • Providing advice to drivers, operators and members of the public
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on internal databases
  • Liaising with internal teams and external agencies regarding licensing matters
  • Supporting the administration of licensing processes for vehicles, drivers and operators
General duties in this role include:
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing legislation and council policies
  • Producing and issuing licences within required timescales
  • Managing data in line with Data Protection requirements
  • Delivering excellent customer service across all interactions
  • Supporting continuous improvement within the service
Ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience in taxi licensing or a similar regulatory/administrative environment
  • Knowledge of licensing legislation and processes
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience using IT systems and Microsoft Office
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
