Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are seeking someone who is passionate about working with children and their families, and who wants to be part of a supportive and inclusive team.

We pride ourselves on reflective, neurodiversity-affirming, and strength-based care.

We balance clinical appointments with other responsibilities and allocate significant time for intervention in every role.

We prioritise support and clinical supervision. You will have an induction period with shadowing and joint sessions, as well as regular supervision and a Band 5 peer support group.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment, treatment and advice to children and young adults aged 0-19 with a wide range of needs.
  • Work in partnership with families, other health professionals and colleagues in education to maintain a holistic approach to the management of the child.
  • Collaborate with the designated wellbeing team within Children's SLT to keep the wellbeing of all our team high on the agenda.
  • Participate in talks and events organised by the wellbeing team.
  • Receive mentorship from experienced therapists and participate in weekly mentoring and on-the-job coaching.
  • Access formal CPD opportunities to build knowledge in specific areas of interest as your career progresses.
Qualifications
  • Full driving licence (must be able to provide proof at interview).

Colleagues in our team were previously shortlisted for two categories at our NHFT Quality Awards.

Testimonials

"I always thought I would work with adults until I did my placement here. Working with this team completely changed my mind. The support, knowledge and expertise among the whole team was astounding. Since starting as a Band 5, this has only continued, and I can't imagine any other team I would rather be a part of in my first job."

"When I started, I felt so supported by everyone. We regularly check in on each other which is not something I experienced previously outside of the NHS—the emphasis on wellbeing in this team is fab. I feel as if I can always ask for support from anyone. I would think anyone lucky to be in this team, made even better by team days having fun together."

About

NHFT

NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools.

We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
