Role Description The Distribution Cleaning Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kettering. The person in this role oversees cleaning operations within distribution and warehouse facilities, ensuring all areas meet agreed standards, service levels, and health and safety requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing and scheduling cleaning teams, monitoring performance, conducting site inspections, and handling staffing matters such as training, coaching, and absence management.
The role also involves liaising with clients and internal stakeholders, preparing reports, managing stock and equipment, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. The Distribution Cleaning Manager is expected to respond promptly to operational issues, support continuous improvement, and maintain a professional, service-focused approach.
Qualifications
- Experience managing cleaning operations in distribution, warehouse, or similar commercial environments, with proven people management and supervisory skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities, including rota management, resource allocation, and time management in a fast-paced setting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of health and safety practices, risk assessments, and compliance within cleaning or facilities management.
- Competence in basic IT tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, reporting systems) and comfort using handheld devices or apps for scheduling and reporting.
- Ability to work on-site across warehouse and distribution areas, including a hands-on approach when required and flexibility to cover different shifts if needed.
- Previous experience in contract cleaning, facilities management, or logistics environments is highly beneficial.
- Relevant supervisory or management qualifications, or equivalent experience; a full, valid driving license is an advantage.
