Role
Purpose:
As a CNC Machinist, you'll be responsible for setting, operating and programming 5-axis CNC machinery to manufacture components accurately and efficiently. You'll work from technical drawings and designs, use CAD/CAM software to support programming and production, and ensure finished components meet the required quality and specification.
Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Location:
Kettering
Salary: £15.00-£18.00 per hour depending on experience
Overtime:
Paid at 1.5x
Responsibilities:
Set, operate and program 5-axis CNC machinery.
Produce bespoke components accurately to technical drawings, designs and specifications.
Use CAD/CAM software to support CNC programming and production.
Read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications.
Set machines, tooling and work pieces to ensure production runs efficiently.
Make programme and machine adjustments where required to maintain accuracy and quality.
Carry out quality checks throughout the machining process.
Identify and resolve basic machine, tooling and production issues.
Work with a range of materials and components depending on production requirements.
Maintain high standards of accuracy, finish and workmanship across all work.
Work closely with the wider workshop and production team to ensure projects are completed on time.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Follow all company health and safety procedures and safe machine operating practices.
Requirements:
Previous CNC machining experience within a relevant manufacturing environment is essential.
Strong experience operating and programming 5-axis CNC machinery.
Experience with in industries such as stone, woodworking, joinery, furniture, shopfitting, exhibition/display, composites, plastics, solid surface or architectural manufacturing would be highly relevant.
Experience using CAD/CAM software.
Ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings.
Good problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve basic production issues.
Proactive and reliable approach to work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider workshop team.
Full UK driving licence is essential.
Benefits:
£15.00-£18.00 per hour depending on experience.
Overtime paid at 1.5x.
Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
21 days holiday plus bank holidays.
