Job Description
Job Title: Press Operator
Location: Kettering
Hours: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: 13.20 per hour increasing to 13.33 per hour after 12 weeks
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Press Operator to join our production team. This role involves operating label press machinery to produce high-quality labels carrying out quality inspections and preparing finished products for dispatch. The successful candidate will work within a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high standards of quality safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Operate label press machinery to produce blank labels and convert printed materials.
- Read and understand production job sheets.
- Set up cutters magnetic cylinders web guides and slitting knives.
- Adjust machine settings to achieve optimum production speeds while maintaining quality.
- Operate the press computer to input production settings.
- Monitor production and remove any faults or defects during the manufacturing process.
- Carry out quality inspections throughout production.
- Pack and box finished products according to job specifications.
- Accurately complete production paperwork including production times and any amendments to job sheets.
- Perform routine daily machine maintenance.
- Keep the work area clean organised and safe.
- Report equipment faults and production issues to the Production Supervisor.
- Contribute ideas to improve efficiency and production processes.
- Previous experience operating production or manufacturing machinery is desirable.
- Ability to follow written instructions and job sheets accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to identify production faults.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable with a positive attitude and good time keeping.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
