Overview
Are you a Registered Children's Nurse or Paramedic who enjoys a fast-paced and demanding environment? This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills in the assessment and care of children with a range of clinical conditions. We are expanding our Paediatric Nursing Team within the Emergency Department at Kettering General Hospital.
Responsibilities- Deliver high quality, compassionate, patient-centred care by prioritising patients using your expert clinical knowledge. You will be skilled in assessment, planning, implementation and re-evaluation of care, guiding the patient through their journey in the department.
- Ensure the environment and equipment are clean, maintained, tidy and well stocked, and that the department is prepared for every eventuality. You will work in accordance with the codes of your governing bodies (NMC) and local standards of care and policies.
The department offers a wide range of emergency services including minor injuries, adult, children’s and a level 2 trauma unit. You will predominantly work within the Paediatric area of the Emergency Department but will also support other areas within the ED and across the Trust’s Paediatric Services to broaden your specialist skills.
About the postThis position is available on a full-time or part-time basis. The role is challenging and provides varied experience and opportunities for professional development within a friendly and supportive team. Training and opportunities to broaden experience will be available as appropriate. The post supports development within paediatric emergency care and related services.
Requirements- Current registration as a Nurse with the NMC or as a Paramedic with suitable paediatric competencies.
- Experience in paediatric care, emergency or acute settings is desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate clinical decision-making, teamwork and effective communication with children, families and colleagues.
