This is a temporary position for a qualified chef to work as a Second Chef at Barchester Healthcare, a leading UK healthcare provider. The role involves assisting the Head Chef in creating nutritious and flavorsome menus for the residents, while ensuring a warm and welcoming environment in the home. Mainduties of the job
As a Second Chef at Barchester, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh seasonal produce and deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the long hours and split shifts typical of the industry. You will assist the Head Chef in menu development, working within budget to create high-quality, wholesome dishes. Additionally, you will help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, lead and motivate the team, and complete regular audits and stock control.

Working as a bank Second Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE
A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent Experience in helping lead and inspire a team A good understanding of nutrition Experience of working with fresh seasonal food The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home Good understanding of HACCP

Person Specification Qualifications- You will need to hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification, have experience in helping lead and inspire a team, a good understanding of nutrition and HACCP, and the ability to create a warm and welcoming environment.
