Food Runner

Reports To: Store Manager

Job Summary

As a Food Runner at The Golden Hog, you will be a key part of the front‑of‑house and kitchen team. Your primary responsibility is to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food orders from the kitchen to the customers or buffet station. You will support the kitchen staff by communicating effectively, organizing plates, and maintaining cleanliness and flow in the service area.

This role requires speed, attention to detail, and a positive attitude in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver prepared food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate guests or stations efficiently and safely
  • Ensure proper plate presentation and correct order accuracy before delivery
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and front‑of‑house staff to ensure smooth service flow
  • Assist servers and chefs by keeping the expo and pickup areas clean and organized
  • Refill condiments, utensils, and necessary station supplies throughout the shift
  • Clear and reset buffet stations and tables as needed
  • Handle customer requests or concerns professionally and promptly, redirecting management as needed
  • Always maintain food safety and hygiene standards
  • Assist in end‑of‑day cleaning and closing tasks when necessary
  • Comply with all company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role preferred
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Excellent time management and ability to multitask
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • A positive attitude and team spirit
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as required
  • Basic understanding of food safety standards
Schedule
  • Your standard work schedule will be 5 days per week, with 2 days off to be scheduled based on operational needs.
  • Due to special events, you may be required to work on holidays or additional days.
