Job Summary

The full‑time Assistant Manager is a full‑time hourly employee whose primary function is the operation and supervision of a theatre and its employees, and to act as a representative to Regal in a way that is consistent with our mission statement and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Uphold and administer all theatre policies.
  • Train, develop, coach and supervise non‑management employees.
  • Perform all staff positions as required.
  • Operate all projection and audio‑visual equipment within the theatre, including film handling and maintenance.
  • Maintain knowledge of all systems within the facility in booth and projection technology.
  • Ensure required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
  • Monitor risk management, including employee and patron safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and accident reporting.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Count, deposit, and reconcile all receipts taken during a business day.
  • Comply with dress code policy.
  • Complete or be in the process of completing the management certification program.
  • Review and understand the ROM (Release of Movies).
  • Interviews, hires, schedules, coaches, counsels, suspends, and terminates cast members under the oversight of the General Manager or senior management.
  • Control costs, including direct operating expenses, ordering concession and café stock, and inventory auditing.
  • Supervise theatre maintenance, handling minor repairs and arranging qualified personnel for larger concerns.
  • Market and promote feature film engagements and schedule movie show times.
  • Read and understand training materials on sexual harassment and discrimination.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities

As assigned by the GM or other senior manager.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (if not currently a high‑school student).
  • At least three months supervisory experience, or 6 months theatre experience with completion of Cast Certification Program, or a combination thereof.
Alcohol Sales Requirement
  • If duties include selling/serving alcohol, must be of legal age and complete required state or local training and the Regal Responsible Beverage Server training.
Language Ability
  • Good public speaking skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication with employees, vendors, and corporate staff.
  • Active listening, clear response, and ability to explain information to others.
Math Ability
  • Perform calculations with speed and accuracy, identifying and correcting errors.
Reasoning Ability
  • Identify problems, gather relevant data, evaluate alternatives, and recommend solutions.
  • Act with minimal supervision and perform under pressure.
Computer and Office Skills
  • Proven experience with PC platforms and basic office programs (email, word processing, spreadsheets).
  • Operate copiers and other office equipment and maintain filing systems.
  • Use tools and equipment with dexterity and perform mechanical tasks as necessary.
Personal Skills
  • Interface effectively with customers, the public, and coworkers; exhibit sensitivity to others.
  • Set goals, budget time, and prioritize to achieve desired objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise an unspecified number of employees.
  • Conduct training, coaching, performance appraisal, reward, complaint handling, and problem resolution.
  • Under direction of the General Manager or senior manager, discipline employees and facilitate hiring and interviewing.
Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, sit; use hands and reach; occasionally climb or balance; regularly lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus required.
