£31,880 slary or £16.57 per hour, plus plenty of overtime opportunities, enhanced holiday pay, permanent, Keynsham BS31, 33 days holiday, working Monday to Friday 37 hour week , core hours 7.30 - 15.30, early finish Friday, pension, parking.

Our client is an established and highly respected manufacturer who operates a friendly team of engineers and has an opportunity to work in a permanent or temp to perm role as a manual turner where you will manage your own workload with jobs allocated from the engineering supervisor.

The manual turner role involves:

Manual machining
Manual turning but any cnc turning experience is also of interest
Machining precision parts and components producing one off's and small batches.
Reading engineering drawings
Working to non-aerospace tolerances
Any basic cnc machining is also of interest but not essential
Select appropriate materials for each job as described in the drawings
Self inspect components and report any manufacturing errors to line manager so corrective action can be agreed

The manual turner role requires

Candidates may have served an engineering apprenticeship as a skilled machinist
Any City & Guilds or NVQ or equivalent Engineering qualifications would be suitable however candidates who are time served in machining could also be suitable if they can demonstrate a suitable track record in manual milling or turning
This would be the ideal role for someone who has worked as a manual turner but any CNC Turning or milling skills are also of interest and could lead to a higher salary.
