Role Summary
Compass Project Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Al Khobar, supporting the delivery of a major mixed-use development comprising a range of residential, hospitality, commercial, leisure and infrastructure assets.
The successful candidate will possess strong experience across both pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying
, providing commercial support throughout the full project lifecycle from cost planning and procurement through to contract administration, change management and final account settlement.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a landmark development within a multi-disciplinary PMC environment.
Key Responsibilities Pre-Contract- Prepare cost plans, estimates and feasibility studies.
- Review design documentation and provide cost advice throughout the design stages.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and tender documentation.
- Support procurement and tender evaluation activities.
- Conduct value engineering and cost optimisation exercises.
- Prepare tender analysis reports and commercial recommendations.
- Support contract preparation and award processes.
- Manage commercial and quantity surveying activities throughout project delivery.
- Review, assess and negotiate variations, claims and change orders.
- Prepare and maintain cost reports, forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Review contractor payment applications and certify valuations.
- Manage contract administration activities in accordance with project requirements.
- Support risk management and commercial decision-making.
- Participate in project progress meetings and provide commercial advice.
- Assist with final account negotiations and project close-out activities.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and commercial procedures.
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Quantity Surveying.
- Demonstrated experience across both pre-contract and post-contract commercial management.
- Strong knowledge of cost planning, procurement, tendering and contract administration.
- Experience managing variations, claims and change control processes.
- Strong understanding of FIDIC and standard forms of contract.
- Experience working within a consultancy, PMC, client-side or cost consultancy environment.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software.
- MRICS or equivalent professional accreditation is preferred.
