The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) invites applications for a full‑time faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, or Lecturer in Digital Humanities and/or Future Studies. The successful candidate will contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and research that bridges humanities, technology, data, and future‑oriented thinking.
The selected candidate will support innovative and forward‑looking academic initiatives by integrating digital tools, computational methods, and future studies frameworks into humanities education. The faculty member is expected to foster critical, analytical, and ethical perspectives on technology, society, and future transformations at local and global levels.
Qualifications & Experience (Required)- PhD in Digital Humanities, Future Studies, Humanities, Social Sciences, or a related interdisciplinary field (preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of digital humanities methodologies, such as digital archives, text analysis, data visualization, AI‑assisted research, or cultural analytics
- Familiarity with future studies approaches, including foresight, scenario planning, trend analysis, and strategic futures
- University‑level teaching experience (preferred)
- Evidence of research, publications, or scholarly engagement (required for Assistant/Associate Professor ranks)
- Competency in using Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard or equivalent)
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Digital Humanities, Future Studies, or related interdisciplinary areas
- Design and deliver courses that integrate technology with humanities‑based inquiry
- Apply digital tools and analytical methods in teaching and research
- Conduct scholarly research and publish in peer‑reviewed journals (for Assistant/Associate Professor ranks)
- Participate in curriculum development and academic program innovation
- Supervise student research projects and capstone work
- Engage in academic advising and student mentoring
- Serve on departmental, college, and university committees
- Contribute to institutional initiatives related to innovation, digital transformation, and future readiness
