Position Overview

Associate Professor, Humanities and Social Sciences (Position Code: 1900002L)

Responsible for teaching, curriculum development, academic advising, research, and service in the Core Curriculum Program – Humanities and Social Sciences at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University.

• Develop, design, and deliver courses in the Core Curriculum Program, ensuring integration of communication, technology, critical thinking, professional development, teamwork, and leadership competencies.
• Coordinate curriculum development and assessment for required and elective courses, including the Capstone Assessment modules.
• Provide academic advising, conduct student assessments, and maintain accurate grade records.
• Participate in faculty meetings, school and college committees, and contribute to school quality assurance and accreditation processes.
• Engage in scholarly activity, maintain current knowledge in the field, and contribute to professional service and outreach.
• Fulfill additional duties as requested by the Department Chair, College Dean, Vice President, or President.

• Ph.D. in Communication, Education, Linguistics, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of three years of college-level teaching experience.
• Demonstrated record of curriculum development, research, and academic service.
• Evidence of scholarship or professional development in the discipline.
• Procedural letter of promotion to the rank of Associate Professor.

• Carry out the position in accordance with college values and policies, upholding high professional standards.
• Promote collegiality, inclusiveness, and community engagement in the learning community.
• Provide timely feedback and assessment of coursework and examinations.
• Support students, resolve issues, and refer to specialist parties when appropriate.

• Contribute to policy and practice in teaching and research at the school and faculty level.
• Lead course design, program review, assessment, quality assurance, and quality enhancement.
• Develop innovative approaches to learning and teaching as appropriate.
• Provide general support and guidance to students.
