Associate Professor, Computer Science

Position Overview

Associate Professor, Computer Science at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University, located in Al-Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Full-time, on-site position, reporting to the Department Chair and College Dean.

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field from an accredited Western university.
• Master’s degree with teaching experience considered for teaching freshman/sophomore courses and labs.
• Minimum 2–3 years post-Ph.D. teaching experience with strong research record (publications in international journals and conferences).
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Familiarity with technology-infused academic environments.
• Industrial experience and previous experience in the Middle East or GCC considered a plus.
• For Associate/Full Professor: letter of promotion from an academic institution documenting promotion to the rank.

General

Teaching

• Contribute to school and faculty policy and teaching practice.
• Play a significant role in designing, developing, and planning courses and programs.
• Review courses and programs and participate in assessment, quality assurance, and enhancement.
• Develop innovative approaches to learning and teaching.
• Provide timely feedback and assessment of coursework and examinations.
• Offer general support and guidance to students, resolving issues or referring to specialists as needed.

Scholarly & Professional Development & Service

• Maintain scholarly or professional development activity and stay current in the field.
• Participate in comprehensive advisement of students majoring in the College.
• Contribute to the overall work of the College and external organizations by representing the institution on committees and groups.
• Participate in management of administrative processes and committee structures as required.
• Lead major initiatives or projects that support School, faculty, or College performance and accreditation.
• Participate in recruitment, management, development, and mentoring of colleagues.
• Perform any other position-related duties as requested.

• Research interest and experience in Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, Image Processing, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Distributed Systems, Cryptography, Parallel Computing, Mobile App Development.
