Role Purpose

The Aquarium Package Manager is responsible for the complete delivery of the aquarium construction package, including civil, structural, MEP works, life support systems (LSS), acrylic panel installation, tanks, theming, marine life support infrastructure, vendor coordination, QA/QC, safety, and scheduling. The role ensures all works are delivered in accordance with technical specifications, international aquarium standards, project requirements, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities 1. Construction & Installation Management
  • Oversee all construction activities related to aquarium tanks, acrylic panels, back‑of‑house areas, LSS rooms, pump rooms, filtration systems, and water circulation networks.
  • Manage installation of large acrylic viewing windows, tunnels, tanks, habitats, and special aquarium attractions.
  • Ensure all works follow approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Resolve daily site issues, coordinate installation sequences, and supervise subcontractor activities.
2. Technical Coordination
  • Review shop drawings, technical documents, mock‑ups, and material submittals related to aquarium systems.
  • Coordinate with design consultants, LSS specialists, theming, MEP, civil, and ELV teams to ensure seamless interfaces.
  • Manage critical interface points including waterproofing details, structural supports, LSS piping systems, electrical supply, and AV integration.
3. Life Support Systems (LSS) Oversight
  • Ensure correct installation of pumps, filtration systems, ozone generators, UV sterilizers, chillers, heaters, chemical dosing equipment, and water quality systems.
  • Coordinate and verify testing requirements to meet marine‑species water quality standards.
  • Review and validate commissioning plans and performance tests prepared by LSS specialist vendors.
4. Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Conduct inspections for waterproofing, concrete works, acrylic installation, and LSS equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with international aquarium standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Manage documentation for quality checks, NCRs, inspections, approvals, and close‑out requirements.
5. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
  • Enforce HSE protocols relating to aquarium construction, such as handling heavy acrylic panels, deep pool works, confined spaces, and chemical handling.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with all site safety rules and procedures.
  • Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.
6. Schedule & Reporting
  • Maintain and update project schedules, look‑ahead plans, and progress tracking tools.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Identify risks, delays, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with planning teams to ensure alignment with the overall project timeline.
7. Commercial & Contractual Management
  • Validate subcontractor progress and prepare payment recommendations.
  • Review variation orders, claims, and scope changes related to aquarium works.
  • Ensure all contractual deliverables are achieved.
8. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
  • Lead testing and commissioning for LSS systems, tanks, acrylic installations, and all related infrastructure.
  • Oversee water‑filling procedures, pressure testing, leak detection, and final water quality adjustments.
  • Prepare snag lists, monitor rectification works, and manage close‑out documentation.
  • Ensure seamless handover to operations, including O&M manuals, training, and certification.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Marine Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of construction experience, including at least 5 years in aquarium, marine facility, or LSS installation projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of acrylic installation, LSS systems, marine filtration, waterproofing, and structural coordination.
  • Experience working with international aquarium specialists and vendors.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to handle multi‑disciplinary, interface‑heavy project environments.
