Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Inspector (Onshore) to supervise and inspect electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities in onshore construction projects. The role involves ensuring all electrical systems, equipment, and installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, international standards, and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in electrical inspection, testing procedures, quality assurance, and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure safe and reliable electrical system performance.
Roles and Responsibilities- Perform inspection of electrical installation works including cabling, termination, panel installation, and equipment erection at onshore project sites.
- Inspect electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, grounding/earthing, and control systems for compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Verify cable routing, glanding, termination, labeling, and continuity testing as per project requirements.
- Inspect installation of transformers, switch gear, MCCs, control panels, and associated electrical equipment.
- Witness electrical testing activities including insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, earth resistance tests, and functional testing.
- Review and verify QA/QC documentation including test reports, inspection records, and material certificates.
- Ensure compliance with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, and project-specific specifications.
- Monitor electrical installation activities to ensure adherence to approved ITPs, procedures, and safety standards.
- Identify non-conformities and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, construction teams, subcontractors, and client representatives during inspections and audits.
- Participate in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and energization activities of electrical systems.
- Ensure proper earthing and bonding systems are installed and tested as per design requirements.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, test reports, and quality documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies, electrical safety standards, and permit-to-work systems.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of electrical installation and testing issues.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical inspection within onshore oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, power plant, or industrial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation interfaces.
- Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, and relevant project specifications.
- Experience in reviewing electrical drawings such as SLDs, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and schematics.
- Knowledge of electrical testing methods including IR testing, continuity testing, and earth resistance testing.
- Experience in installation and inspection of switch gear, MCCs, transformers, cables, and control panels.
- Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, inspection techniques, and documentation systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and vendor documents accurately.
- Proficiency in MS Office and quality reporting/documentation tools.
