ABB RTU560 Testing Engineers

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for ABB RTU
  560 systems ensuring thorough validation of functionality and performance.
• Perform in-depth testing of RTU
  560 configurations including communication protocols, data acquisition and control logic to guarantee system integrity.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes of issues, and provide detailed reports with actionable recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with design and development teams to understand system requirements and contribute to testability.
• Conduct configuration verification: review existing RTU
  560 configuration, manage signal database, verify IEC 60870-5-101/104 or IEC 61850 mappings, validate point addressing and data class (SP, DP, AI, etc.), and ensure correct communication parameters.
• Perform end‑to‑end SCADA testing: complete loop testing from RTU → Communication → ADMS, identify missing signals, incorrect mappings, communication delays/errors, and coordinate corrections with SCADA/ADMS team.
• Follow SEC operational and safety procedures to ensure no impact to live SCADA operations, coordinate properly before simulation, and adhere to permit‑to‑work system and cybersecurity access protocols.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in testing or commissioning of RTU SCADA systems, with a focus on RTUs.
• Proven experience with ABB RTU
  560 or similar RTU platforms is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of communication protocols such as IEC 61850, DNP3, IEC‑101 and Modbus.

• Follow SEC operational and safety procedures.
• Ensure no impact to live SCADA operations.
• Coordinate properly before simulation.
• Adhere to permit‑to‑work system and cybersecurity and access protocols.
