Your Role – International, Challenging And Future-Oriented!We are seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager to oversee the design, execution, and implementation of fire alarm systems for industrial and commercial sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in NFPA 72, UL standards, HCIS & Saudi Aramco requirements, with a proven track record in managing the complete design lifecycle, from initial concept through to project completion.
Key Responsibilities- Project Oversight:
Oversees the entire design process, from initial concept through to execution and completion, ensuring that all designs meet technical requirements, specifications, budget constraints and quality standards. - Fire Alarm System Design & Execution:
Lead the design of fire alarm, voice evacuation, and smoke detection systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA 72, UL, HCIS, Aramco, and AHJ standards. - Project Lifecycle Management:
Oversee all aspects of the project design, including the preparation of BoQs, submittals, and schematics, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to client requirements. - Team Coordination & Resource Allocation:
Collaborate closely with the project manager to allocate engineering resources effectively, ensuring the project stays on schedule and meets all regulatory and code requirements. - Design Review & Compliance:
Review riser/shop drawings, loop/wiring layouts, and panel designs, ensuring they meet all relevant codes, specifications, and manufacturer’s guidelines. - System Calculations:
Supervise and perform detailed calculations, including voltage drop, battery sizing, NAC design, line resistance, and heat dissipation. - System Integration:
Ensure seamless integration of fire alarm systems with suppression, HVAC, and emergency control systems, according to project and system specifications. - Quality Assurance:
Lead FAT, SAT, and client inspections to ensure systems meet design and project requirements. - Vendor & Product Compliance:
Handle vendor qualifications and ensure product compliance for fire alarm systems, Security Systems & BMS. - Technical Support & Problem Resolution:
Resolve technical queries, scope deviations, and design clarifications, ensuring smooth communication with clients and stakeholders. - Access Control & Security Systems:
Provide expertise in HCIS-compliant access control and perimeter security system design. - Documentation & Approvals:
Review and approve shop drawings, as-builts, SLDs, and I/O lists for fire, BMS and security systems. - Risk Assessment & Design Improvement:
Contribute to risk assessments, implement quality design improvements, and support the development of technical strategies. - Team Leadership & Mentorship:
Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in fire alarm system design and execution (Siemens System is highly preferred), with a strong background in industrial/commercial sectors.
