Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Plumbing Inspector to supervise and inspect plumbing system installation, testing, and commissioning activities in construction and industrial projects. The role involves ensuring all plumbing works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring installation activities, verifying system performance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining high-quality execution across all plumbing systems.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection of plumbing system installation including water supply, drainage, sewage, and stormwater systems at site.
  • Verify installation of pipes, valves, fixtures, fittings, pumps, and related plumbing components as per approved drawings and specifications.
  • Inspect pipe routing, alignment, slope, support installation, and joint integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with approved plumbing drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications.
  • Witness and verify pressure testing, leakage testing, flushing, and disinfection of plumbing systems.
  • Review QA/QC documentation including inspection reports, test certificates, and material approvals.
  • Inspect installation of water storage tanks, pumps, valves, and sanitary fixtures.
  • Ensure proper identification, labeling, and segregation of potable and non-potable water systems.
  • Identify non-conformities and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, construction teams, subcontractors, and client representatives during inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with international plumbing standards and local authority regulations.
  • Participate in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and system handover activities.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, test reports, and quality documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to HSE policies, safe working practices, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of plumbing installation issues at site.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–7 years of experience in plumbing inspection or mechanical QA/QC in building, infrastructure, industrial, or onshore projects.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, sewage, and stormwater networks.
  • Familiarity with international and local plumbing standards (IPC, UPC, BS codes, or equivalent).
  • Experience in reviewing plumbing drawings, shop drawings, P&IDs, and layout plans.
  • Knowledge of pressure testing, flushing, disinfection, and commissioning procedures.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures and inspection documentation.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and quality reporting/document management systems.
