We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager with 12+ years of experience in designing and managing engineering projects, specifically within the fields of Control Systems & Instrumentation Design for the oil and gas industry. The Design Manager will be responsible for the technical delivery of projects within the required timelines, ensuring all design and engineering deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.

, with a proven track record of managing design teams and collaborating with cross-functional departments to resolve complex engineering challenges.
- Lead the design and technical execution of projects related to control systems and DCS/PLC/SCADA packages, instrumentation packages, and instrumentation systems.
- Identify, collect, and analyze engineering problems; recommend and implement solutions by adapting and modifying engineering techniques, preparing technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
- Ensure that all design-related tasks are completed on time and within budget, coordinating with other departments to maintain project schedules and goals.
- Communicate essential technical information to the project team, coordinate actions, obtain expert input, and facilitate problem resolution.
- Contribute to project meetings and reports by providing technical insights, reviewing open issues and action items, and escalating project completion impediments when necessary.
- Ensure all design outputs comply with industry standards and the company Quality Management System (QMS).
- Liaise with clients to understand technical requirements, provide regular updates, and ensure satisfaction with technical deliverables.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Instrumentation, or related field);
Masters Degree preferred. - 12+ years of experience in engineering design, with a focus on control systems design & instrumentation.
- Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, ESD and SCADA systems.
- Significant experience managing EPC projects, particularly for Saudi Aramco and ADNOC.
- Demonstrated experience in managing the design of control systems and DCS/PLC/SCADA packages, instrumentation packages, and field instrumentation.
- Proven ability to resolve complex engineering challenges through innovative solutions and detailed technical analysis.
- Experience working on oil and gas EPC projects with a focus on delivering high-quality technical designs within tight schedules.
- Familiarity with international industry standards and best practices for DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with international standards and regulations for oil and gas projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solid Works, or other relevant design software.
- PMP or other project management certifications are a plus.
- Expertise in the design of control systems and DCS/PLC/SCADA packages, especially Schneider Foxboro DCS and Triconex ESD Systems including the preparation of detailed drawings, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Strong analytical skills to resolve engineering challenges by adapting standard techniques and recommending innovative solutions.
- Ability to manage design deliverables within project schedules, ensuring timely communication and coordination between departments.
- Advanced knowledge of design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works) and experience with design and engineering documentation.
- Technical proficiency in the selection, engineering, configuration, and documentation of DCS, PLC, SCADA, and ESD systems for oil and gas applications.
- Capable of leading and mentoring a team of engineers and designers, ensuring the quality and efficiency of the design process.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present technical information to both internal teams and external clients.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Ability to manage multiple design tasks and ensure timely completion without compromising on quality.
- A keen eye for detail to ensure precision in design deliverables and adherence to technical standards.
