Job DescriptionThe Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for performing and reviewing civil design work for in‑house and contractor‑executed projects. This includes earthwork, site grading, roads, paving, and various drainage systems. The role ensures that all civil designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards while coordinating with other engineering disciplines. The engineer will also support project execution, participate in design reviews, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Key responsibilities include:- Developing civil designs for earthwork, grading, roads, paving, and drainage
- Reviewing and verifying contractor design deliverables for compliance and quality
- Ensuring alignment of civil design with other engineering disciplines
- Preparing design calculations, Basis of Design documents, specifications, and standards
- Supporting FEED and Detailed Design activities for greenfield and brownfield projects
- Preparing scopes of work for geotechnical, topographical, and underground scanning surveys
- Reviewing vendor drawings and performing material take‑offs
- Participating in 3D model reviews using tools such as Navisworks or SPR
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 10 years of civil engineering experience in petrochemical, fertilizer, refining, oil, or gas industries
- 5 to 7 years of experience with a recognized international FEED or EPC contractor
- Experience in both FEED and Detailed Design for greenfield and brownfield projects
- Site or construction experience is an advantage
- Knowledge of international design codes such as AASHTO, ACI, API, ASTM, AWWA, NFPA, and PIP
- Experience in earthwork design, rough grading, and finish grading
- Roads and paving design, including geometric design
- Site development, fencing, and gate layout
- Familiarity with local codes and regulations such as HCIS and RC
- Stormwater, sanitary sewer, firewater, and contaminated drainage design
- Hydraulic design for evaporation ponds and first‑flush ponds
- Proficiency in Civil Storm, SewerGEMS, Civil 3D, Open Roads, or similar software
- Ability to prepare design reports, specifications, and standards
- Experience with 3D project execution and model review software
- Ability to perform vendor drawing reviews and prepare material take‑offs
