Title:
Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer (Offshore)
Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer with a minimum of 15 years of overall experience, including at least 5 years in offshore Oil & Gas projects. Experienced in Conceptual, FEED, Detailed Design, and Brownfield Modification projects for offshore production facilities, including Wellhead Platforms (WHP), Tie-in Platforms (TP), GOSPs, and utility systems. Possesses sound knowledge of instrumentation and control systems engineering, applicable international codes and standards, Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards, safety and shutdown systems, functional safety (IEC 61511), digitalization, industrial communication systems, and hazardous area design.
Excellent communication, coordination, technical leadership, and client interface skills are essential.
- Design, specify, size, and select instruments and equipment required for control and monitoring of process units and utilities (BPCS, Safety Systems, SIS, SIL, Analyzers, PCS Communication, field instrumentation, valves, advanced controls systems, etc.)
- Develop basis of design documents.
- Perform site evaluation (site survey) for revamp and brown‑field projects as required for Offshore and Onshore scoping of projects, including instrumentation and control systems deliverables.
- Develop instrumentation and control systems deliverables.
- Estimate work hours for proposals.
- Develop instrument selection and sizing calculations (valve sizing calculations, orifice plate sizing, voltage drop calculations, etc.).
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team, including the clients responsible for design integrity of process engineering scope, performance of assigned staff, and on‑schedule delivery of work within budget.
- Lead technical presentations to clients and their representatives as required.
- Ensure applicable procedures and standards (client, company and international) are correctly applied.
- Minimum Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation and Control Systems or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant engineering experience, including at least 5 years in offshore Oil & Gas projects.
- Sound knowledge of basic engineering principles, control systems and instrumentation technology, equipment sizing, safety devices.
- Knowledge of iPlant, Bentley View including InTools (SPI), Instru Cal.
- Familiarity with key Saudi engineering standards and procedures.
- Ability to handle responsibility and complete projects within schedule.
- Proficiency in English, oral and written.
- Excellent technical presentation skills.
