Hatch, in partnership with Ma’aden, is delivering major mining and infrastructure projects across Saudi Arabia. We are seeking a Utility Engineer who supports the planning, design, coordination, and execution of utility systems for major mining and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will play a key role in utility tie-ins, ensuring the safe integration of new facilities with existing utility networks while maintaining operational continuity and compliance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and support the execution of utility tie-ins for water, wastewater, power, instrumentation, communications, and other utility systems.
- Develop tie-in packages, method statements, shutdown plans, and construction work packages.
- Review engineering designs and ensure compatibility with existing utility infrastructure.
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, construction, and contractor teams to minimize disruptions during tie-in activities.
- Identify utility interface requirements and manage associated risks.
- Support utility routing, network assessments, and capacity evaluations.
- Monitor field activities to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project standards.
- Participate in constructability reviews, HAZOPs, and risk assessments related to utility installations and tie-ins.
- Resolve technical issues during construction and commissioning phases.
- Maintain accurate utility records, drawings, and as-built documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in utility engineering within mining, industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale capital projects.
- Demonstrated experience planning and executing utility tie-ins and shutdown activities.
- Strong understanding of utility systems, engineering standards, and construction practices.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders in a project environment.
- Knowledge of Saudi Arabian regulations and utility requirements is an asset.
- Professional registration or eligibility for registration is preferre.
Working hours:
Khobar, Sunday to Thursday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM.
