About the Role

Utility Engineer is a Lead position, who supports the planning, design, coordination, and execution of utility systems for major mining and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. The focus will still remain on the Design component, lead & own the complete design life cycle till engineering delivery as well site support during construction and commissioning. The successful candidate will play a key role in utility definition, volume and material selection, overall system design, sizing & quantifying, tie-ins, ensuring the safe integration of new facilities with existing utility networks (as applicable) while maintaining operational continuity and compliance with project requirements.

Candidate must have a robust design background with site exposure as an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and support the execution of utility definition, volume and material selection, overall system design, sizing & quantifying, tie-ins for all categories and quality of water, wastewater, fuel gas, process gases, compressed air, power, instrumentation, communications, and other utility systems.
  • Capable of developing below:
  • v Utility Design Criteria, Design Basis, PFD, Utility Quantity and balance distribution, Utility P&, System Design, Sizing Calculations, Data Sheet, Package definition, Integration philosophy, Interface agreement, Package Scope of Work, tie-in packages, Method statements, Shutdown Methodology & plans, Construction Scope of work packages.
  • Capable of reviewing above engineering design components and ensure compliance to standards and systems with overall plant operability and/ or compatibility with existing utility infrastructure developed by in-house team or external engineering companies/ OEMs/ Package integrator.
  • Co-ordinate inter discipline for smooth flow of information and data.
  • Identify utility interface requirements and manage associated risks.
  • Support utility routing, network assessments.
  • Support on-site team to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project standards.
  • Participate in Constructability reviews, HAZOPs, and Risk assessments related to utility installations and tie-ins.
  • Resolve technical issues during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Provide input to Commercial team during Bid Evaluation and Package selection
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline or Chemical Engineering with wide scope related experience.
  • Mininium
    15+ years of experience in utility engineering within mining, industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale capital projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing large scale project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of utility systems, engineering standards, and construction practices.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders in a project environment.
  • Knowledge of Saudi Arabian regulations and utility requirements is an asset.
  • Professional registration or eligibility for registration is preferred.
Office Location and

Working hours:

Khobar, Sunday to Thursday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM.
