Crowd Management Coordinator

Role Summary

The Venue Fan Operations Specialist supports the delivery of fan and spectator operations within an assigned venue. The role is responsible for coordinating operational readiness, workforce deployment, crowd management, spectator services, accessibility, and last-mile operations to ensure a safe, accessible, and well-organised spectator environment throughout all phases of an event.

• Support the planning and delivery of fan operations and venue services during football/sports events.
• Coordinate fan entry, movement, way finding, queues and crowd flow across designated venue areas.
• Support the smooth operation of fan zones, gates, concourses and other spectator areas.
• Coordinate with venue teams, security, stewards, transport and other event stakeholders to resolve operational issues.
• Monitor venue readiness and ensure fan-facing facilities and services are operational before and during events.
• Assist with the implementation of event-day operational plans, procedures and contingency arrangements.
• Respond to fan queries and operational issues, escalating complex or urgent matters to the appropriate team.
• Monitor crowd behaviour, congestion and potential operational risks, escalating issues in line with event procedures.
• Support the management of VIP, hospitality and general fan requirements, where applicable.
• Conduct venue inspections and report any issues affecting safety, accessibility, cleanliness or fan experience.
• Maintain accurate operational records, incident logs and shift handover information.
• Work on a shift-based event schedule, including evenings, weekends and match days as required.
• Support post-event activities, including venue close-out, issue reporting and operational debriefs.
• Ensure all activities are delivered in accordance with event policies, venue procedures, health & safety requirements and applicable regulations.

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Sports Management, Event Management, Operations Management, Public Safety, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification in crowd management, safety management, event management, or project management is preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as IOSH, NVQ, or equivalent are advantageous.

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in venue operations, crowd management, spectator services, event operations, or a related field.
• Experience working within large-scale sporting, entertainment, or major international events is highly advantageous.
• Experience coordinating operational teams, workforce deployment, crowd management activities, or spectator service programmes is preferred.
