A Telecom / Security System Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining telecommunications and low‑current security systems at client sites. The role ensures high system availability, optimal performance, and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Installation & Commissioning- Install and configure telecom systems such as:
- Structured cabling (fiber & copper)
- PABX/IP telephony systems
- Network switches (CISCO/JUNIPER/RUGGEDCOM/MOXA), routers, and wireless equipment
- Radio (Tetra/UHF/VHF/Aviation)
- Server/SQL configuration
- Install and integrate security systems in accordance with HCIS and ARAMCO specifications/guidelines including:
- CCTV (IP & Analog)
- Access Control Systems
- Intrusion Detection / Alarm Systems
- Public Address (PA)/Voice Evacuation systems
- Gate barriers, turnstiles, intercoms
- Road blockers
- Perform system commissioning, testing, and final acceptance procedures.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on telecom and security systems.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, network, and software‑related faults.
- Respond to service requests and site emergencies within defined SLAs.
- Generate service reports, fault logs, and maintenance documentation.
- Provide onsite technical support to customers and internal project teams.
- Assist in system upgrades, firmware updates, and configuration changes.
- Train end‑users on system operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Prepare site surveys, installation drawings, and BOQs.
- Maintain accurate service records, test sheets, and as‑built documents.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and vendors during installation phases.
- Communicate system issues and solutions clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Attend client meetings for technical clarifications and progress updates.
- Strong knowledge of low‑current systems (CCTV, ACS, IDS, PA, etc.).
- Understanding of IP networking (VLANs, routing, TCP/IP).
- Ability to read technical drawings (AutoCAD, schematics).
- Experience with fiber splicing, OTDR testing, and cable termination.
- Problem‑solving and analytical mindset.
- Excellent customer service and communication.
- Ability to work independently in field environments.
- Time management and task prioritization.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical / electronics / telecommunications engineering.
- Relevant certifications preferred:
- CCNA / CompTIA Network+
- CCTV or Access Control vendor certifications (e.g., Milestone, Lenel, Bosch, Honeywell, Hikvision)
- Low‑current / ELV system training certifications
- 2–5 years of hands‑on field experience in telecom or ELV/security systems.
- Field‑based role requiring frequent site visits.
- May require working at heights, in outdoor environments, or during off‑hours for critical activities.
