Retail, Supply Chain & Logistics Consultant Job Description

The Retail, Supply Chain & Logistics Consultant is responsible for providing deep functional expertise to support business development, solution design, customer engagements, and digital transformation initiatives. The role advises customers and internal teams on retail operations, supply chain optimization, warehouse management, transportation, and logistics processes, enabling the successful adoption of Digital Platforms' solutions across the value chain. The Consultant works closely with business development, presales, product, technology, partnerships, and delivery teams to ensure Digital Platforms' offerings address customer challenges and evolving industry needs.

The role contributes to opportunity development, solution positioning, industry thought leadership, and the continuous enhancement of retail and supply chain digital solutions while serving as a trusted advisor throughout the customer engagement lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Provide subject matter expertise across retail, supply chain, warehousing, transportation, fulfillment, and logistics operations to support customer engagements and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Advise customers on operational challenges, business process optimization, and the application of digital technologies to improve efficiency, visibility, resilience, and customer experience.
  • Support business development and presales teams by providing domain expertise during customer meetings, workshops, discovery sessions, solution discussions, and proposal development.
  • Contribute to the qualification and shaping of strategic opportunities by translating customer business requirements into practical digital and enterprise technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and presales teams to design customer-centric solutions aligned with operational objectives and industry best practices.
  • Develop industry-specific use cases across supply chain visibility, inventory optimization, demand planning, warehouse management, transportation management, fulfillment operations, last‑mile logistics, predictive analytics, and digital operations.
  • Provide expert guidance during solution design to ensure proposed solutions align with customer operational models, business priorities, and supply chain best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous enhancement of Retail, Supply Chain & Logistics solution offerings by providing industry insights, customer feedback, and market perspectives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, including artificial intelligence, digital twins, intelligent automation, advanced analytics, supply chain orchestration platforms, robotics, and IoT, and recommend their application within Digital Platforms' solutions.
  • Participate in customer workshops, operational assessments, digital maturity evaluations, and business process reviews to identify improvement opportunities and transformation priorities.
  • Develop industry presentations, white papers, reference architectures, and thought leadership materials that strengthen Digital Platforms' market positioning.
  • Represent Digital Platforms at industry conferences, technical forums, customer events, and ecosystem engagements as the Retail, Supply Chain & Logistics domain expert.
  • Build trusted relationships with customer business and technical stakeholders by providing credible industry advice and consultative guidance.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, partnerships, and delivery teams to ensure industry requirements are reflected in product evolution and solution development.
  • Support implementation teams by providing functional expertise during project delivery, solution validation, customer acceptance, and adoption activities where required.
  • Contribute to internal capability development by sharing industry knowledge, emerging trends, best practices, and lessons learned across cross‑functional teams.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.

Master's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Technology Management, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • 12–16 years of experience in retail, supply chain, logistics, industrial technology, or related sectors, with extensive experience providing industry consulting, domain expertise, or technical advisory services.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting digital transformation, enterprise software, SaaS, supply chain technology, operational technology (OT), or digital platform initiatives within retail, distribution, and logistics environments.

Experience participating in complex customer engagements, solution development, consulting assignments, or technical presales activities for retail and supply chain organizations.
