Job Purpose:
The Technical Support Supervisor is the supreme technical authority, serving as the master troubleshooting specialist and HQ liaison for all vehicle-related technical issues.
This role is responsible for diagnosing complex vehicle faults, guiding the workshop teams toward efficient "First-Time-Right" repairs, and acting as the official interface with the OEM on all technical matters. By maintaining the integrity of technical records, leading training on complex recalls, and ensuring the absolute correctness of technical data reported to the OEM, this position serves as the guardian of the brand's reputation and vehicle reliability.
KeyResponsibility areas & activities:
Master Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Act as the final point of escalation for complex, "hard-to-repair" vehicle cases across all workshops, performing hands-on diagnosis and repair supervision when required.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to branch technicians, ensuring they follow proper diagnostic procedures and utilize specialized tools correctly.
- Lead the implementation of complex OEM recalls, service campaigns, and technical upgrades, providing hands-on training and supervision to the workshop teams to ensure 100% compliance.
- Monitor workshop equipment and tool availability, ensuring that technical teams have the necessary hardware to perform repairs efficiently.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the OEM; report all vehicle anomalies, quality defects, and complex technical issues through the OEM's technical portals.
- Ensure all technical data—including diagnostic logs, fault codes, and repair narratives is accurately recorded in the OEM DMS, providing the necessary evidence for valid warranty claims.
- Analyze recurring technical failures and provide evidence-based recommendations to the OEM for product quality improvements.
- Maintain an exhaustive "Technical Knowledge Base," archiving the history of complex repairs, diagnostic findings, and proven solutions for future reference across all branches.
- Ensure that all technical work records are documented with absolute precision, creating a transparent audit trail for the Warranty and Aftersales departments.
- Develop "Lessons Learned" briefs and technical newsletters for distribution to branch teams to elevate the overall skill level of the technician workforce.
- Conduct regular technical audits of workshop performance to monitor repair quality, technician proficiency, and adherence to OEM technical service manuals.
Skills:
Qualifications and
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a Master Technician Certification from an OEM-certified training program.
- Minimum 8–10 years of hands-on automotive repair experience, with at least 3–5 years in a Senior Technical role within an official dealership.
- Knowledge:
Absolute "Master-level" understanding of vehicle systems (Electronic, Powertrain, ADAS, etc.) and OEM technical diagnostic tools. Expert knowledge of modern vehicle architecture (especially EV/REEV technology). - Skills:
Expert diagnostic reasoning (root cause analysis). Strong professional writing skills for technical reports. Exceptional training and presentation skills. - Abilities:
Ability to remain calm and decisive under extreme pressure. "Genius-level" aptitude for problem-solving; ability to teach complex concepts to technicians with varying skill levels.
