Job Summary
The Lead Mechanical QA/QC Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing all mechanical quality assurance and quality control activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of projects. The role ensures that all mechanical works are executed in compliance with project specifications, international standards, client requirements, and applicable codes. The candidate will lead QA/QC teams, coordinate inspections, manage documentation, and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives to ensure successful project delivery.
Roles and Responsibilities- Review mech ITPs & procedures for compliance
- Expert in ASME, ASTM, HI, HEI, EN, ISO standards
- Lead mech QA team; supervise inspections & testing
- Monitor method statements & timely record generation
- Manage mech QA scope & inspector performance
- Review manufacturing/site test records incl. STG/GTG
- Raise & close NCRs; verify corrective actions
- Conduct walkdowns, punch-lists & ECC/CCC issuance
- Support audits of subcontractors & suppliers
- Report KPIs & drive quality improvements
- Promote lessons learned & awareness campaigns
- Coordinate and control all centerline activities for GTG&STG
- Coordinate and control of HRSG installation.
- Supervise field engineers, inspectors & technicians
- Mentor QAQC staff & support skill development
- Ensure safety & quality compliance
- Align inspections with project milestones & standards
- Strong knowledge of ISO, ASME, API, IEC, AWS, ACI
- Skilled in audits, RCA & corrective actions
- Proactive in resolving quality issues
- Competent in drawing/doc review & inspections
- Detail-oriented with strong reporting & organization
