Mechanical Piping - Offshore

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Piping Inspector to oversee and inspect piping fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable international codes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections, verifying quality documentation, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring that all piping systems are installed safely and efficiently in accordance with approved procedures.

• Perform inspection of piping fabrication, erection, installation, and testing activities at site/workshop.
• Verify piping materials, fittings, valves, and components against approved specifications and material traceability requirements.
• Conduct inspection of fit-up, alignment, welding preparation, flange connections, and dimensional checks.
• Monitor piping installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, isometrics, procedures, and standards.
• Review and verify piping test packages, hydrotest procedures, and pressure test records.
• Witness hydrostatic, pneumatic, and leak testing activities as per project requirements.
• Coordinate and witness NDT activities related to piping welds and ensure compliance with acceptance criteria.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, and client specifications during all inspection activities.
• Identify non-conformities and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Review inspection reports, QA/QC records, punch lists, and final documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, construction teams, subcontractors, and client representatives during inspections.
• Verify support installation, pipe routing, slope, and line identification as per approved drawings.
• Participate in pre-commissioning and mechanical completion inspections.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality documentation.
• Ensure adherence to HSE policies, safety standards, and company quality procedures at all times.

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3–7 years of experience in piping inspection, QA/QC, or mechanical construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of piping systems, fabrication processes, and installation practices.
• Experience in reviewing isometric drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, and piping layouts.
• Knowledge of hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, and NDT inspection requirements.
• Ability to review material test certificates (MTCs), inspection reports, and QA/QC documentation.
• Strong understanding of welding inspection and piping quality control procedures.
