Field Mechanical Inspector - Opera House Project JCDC

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Field Mechanical Inspector to oversee the inspection and quality control of mechanical installation works for the Opera House Project. The successful candidate will ensure all mechanical systems and equipment are installed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, international standards, and client quality requirements while ensuring compliance with HSE regulations.

• Conduct inspections of mechanical installation works, including piping, HVAC interfaces, pumps, equipment, valves, and associated mechanical systems.
• Verify construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and applicable international standards.
• Monitor material installation, fabrication, alignment, and workmanship to ensure quality compliance.
• Witness pressure testing, hydrotesting, flushing, mechanical completion, and commissioning activities.
• Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), material inspection requests, and quality documentation.
• Prepare inspection reports, punch lists, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and maintain quality records.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, engineers, and client representatives to resolve quality-related issues.
• Ensure all inspection activities comply with project quality standards, client requirements, and HSE regulations.
• Support project handover by verifying mechanical completion and inspection documentation.

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in mechanical inspection for large-scale building, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, pumps, valves, rotating and static equipment, and installation practices.
• Experience in inspection, testing, commissioning, and QA/QC procedures for mechanical works.
• Familiarity with international standards and codes such as ASME, ASTM, API, ISO, and applicable project specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
• GCC/Saudi Arabia project experience is highly preferred.
