About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and learning difficulties?
We are working with a supportive and inclusive school in Kidderminster that caters for pupils with a range of additional needs, including moderate learning difficulties (MLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), autism spectrum condition (ASC), and associated behavioural needs. The school provides a structured, nurturing environment where pupils are supported to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve meaningful progress in a safe and engaging setting.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN and learning difficulties.
* Support the delivery of tailored learning activities adapted to individual needs.
* Assist with behaviour regulation, emotional support, and engagement strategies.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
* Help create a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes inclusion and independence.
Requirements:
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, learning difficulties, ASC, ADHD, or behavioural needs is desirable.
* A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting individual needs.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and wellbeing of children and young people.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST:
* Hold Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one
* Provide two professional, child-related references covering the last two years
