Receptionist MIU

This vacancy is currently only open to Herefordshire and Worcestershire NHS staff.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Minor Injury Unit at Kidderminster Treatment Centre. We are seeking an individual to join our friendly well‑established team. The job role requires a friendly, welcoming individual who will work front of house, greeting patients on arrival to the Minor Injury Unit. To liaise with patients, relatives and other members of the public politely and efficiently, ensuring confidentiality and security of patient information.

Excellent communication, customer care skills are essential. Previous experience working in a similar role would be desirable but not essential.

The post is part‑time (15hrs per week) Wednesday & Thursday 9am‑5pm.

All training will be provided.

The Minor Injury Unit is open 08.00‑22.00.

Job responsibilities

Provide effective, efficient and accurate reception and administrative support to the department.

Undertake reception and administration duties that are specific to the role.

Always conduct yourself in a professional manner and respect patients confidentiality.

To always demonstrate excellent customer care skills to all patients, carers, relatives and other healthcare professionals.

To receive and advise appropriately both telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries in a calm and professional manner.

To make appropriate follow up appointments as required for all patients.

To liaise with other healthcare professionals as required.

Obtaining and relaying accurate information to all work colleagues.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in sometimes stressful and traumatic situations.

Flexible working to cover annual leave and sickness cover.

To be able to deal with all sensitive situations that may arise with tact and understanding and observe absolute confidentiality of all information obtained in the course of work.

Maintain accurate patient records within the department ensuring that all notes are filed and coded appropriately.

To comply with Trust Policies and Procedures.
