Salary: £45,217 per annum (inclusive of allowances and bonuses).

Our client is a leading international manufacturer and supplier of building materials and infrastructure solutions, with sites across the UK and Europe. Their Waresley factory specialises in the production of high-quality bricks used in construction projects worldwide.
The RoleAs a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining, repairing, and improving factory equipment to ensure production targets are met. This role combines a wide range of maintenance skills, including fitting, welding, fabrication, and diagnostics, in a busy and dynamic production environment.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out essential mechanical maintenance and repair work.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime.
- Attend and respond promptly to breakdowns and faults.
- Ensure all machinery and systems meet safety and compliance standards.
- Maintain critical spares and equipment registers.
- Support installation and commissioning of plant machinery.
- Contribute to improving factory Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Promote Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Use diagnostic and testing equipment to locate and rectify faults.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and adhere to company quality systems.
- Level 3 qualification in a Mechanical Engineering discipline (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or factory maintenance environment.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental processes (EHS).
- Diagnostic experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive chains.
- Bearing fitting and alignment experience.
- Knowledge of electrical control systems.
- Basic fabrication and welding (MIG/ARC).
- Good communication skills and a team-focused approach.
- Physically fit and able to work in a hands-on engineering role.
- Completed mechanical apprenticeship.
- HNC/HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience in heavy manufacturing or brick production environments.
- Annual average salary of £45,217 (inclusive of allowances and bonuses).
