Source Co Recruitment are looking for Mechanical Fitters for a growing manufacturing business based in Kidderminster.

The role will involve the manufacture, assembly and preparation of specialist refuse and recycling collection vehicles. You will work closely with the Production Manager and Foreman to ensure vehicles are built to a high standard, meet customer specifications and are completed within agreed timescales.

Working hours:

* Monday - Friday - 8.30am to 16:30pm

Pay:

 * £12.90 per hour (paid weekly)

Key Responsibilities

* Supporting the Production Manager and Foreman in the manufacture and development of refuse collection vehicles

* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and build packs

* Using a range of power tools and workshop equipment

* Working with hydraulics and basic electrics

* Working to build schedules and production deadlines

* Identifying and raising issues during the build process

* Recording any changes or modifications made during builds

* Capturing information to help improve and standardise future builds

* Supporting on-site subcontractors, including camera, weighing and other ancillary equipment providers

* Completing all relevant paperwork and build documentation

* Assisting with vehicle inspections and testing

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have previous mechanical fitting experience, preferably gained within commercial vehicles, vehicle manufacturing or a similar engineering environment.

You will need:

* Good mechanical knowledge and practical fitting skills

* Experience using power tools

* A working knowledge of hydraulics and electrics

* The ability to read and work from engineering drawings

* The ability to work to deadlines and customer specifications

* Strong attention to detail

* Good communication skills

* The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

* A flexible and willing attitude towards learning new skills

MIG welding experience would be desirable but is not essential, as training can be provided.
