The Project Accountant Role The Project Accountant will be responsible for:
Providing financial reporting on defence projects and supporting bid campaigns Validating the financial integrity of offers in liaison with senior management Developing work breakdown structures and project plans for contract proposals Preparing operating plans and monitoring budget forecasts Ensuring accurate allocation of costs and timely hour bookings across programmes Preparing Group contract reviews and monthly Estimate at Completion (EAC) updates Supporting month-end closing and financial reporting processes Maintaining defence-related financial data in SAP systems Providing ad hoc financial support and challenging delivery teams where necessary About The Project Accountant You Are Essential Requirements:
Professional accountancy qualification or part qualification
Experience with in a financial controlling and/or project reporting department Strong knowledge of accountancy principles Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficiency with MS Office and Excel Solid understanding of work package management and control Knowledge of risk management principles Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet tight deadlines Structured and methodical approach to planning and tracking Desirable
Qualifications:
Experience with SAP systems Project accounting experience Knowledge of Single Source Regulatory framework and Contract Regulations Familiarity with MoD Commercial and Accountancy procedures What The Company Offers Competitive Pay: £33.10 per hour (PAYE) or £44.28 per hour (Umbrella) Contract Duration: 12 months with possible extension Working Pattern:
Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:00 (37.5 hours per week) Flexibility:
Hybrid working with 3 days onsite minimum
Location:
Oxford, with occasional UK and European travel Security Clearance:
Opportunity to obtain MoD Security Clearance (DBS required, current SC preferred) Professional Environment:
Working on significant defence projects within an established aerospace organisation Key Requirements Right to work in the UK (all applicants must demonstrate this) Eligible for MoD Security Clearance Full driving licence preferred (not essential) Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally within Europe Why Apply For This Project Accountant Position?
