Band 2E, circa £28,410 per annum, plus 5% shift allowance, plus benefits

Working within the Postal Requisition Crime Team you will provide a high-quality administrative service to internal and external partners, including the Crown Prosecution Services (CPS) and the Courts. Working within force and departmental guidelines towards the aims and objectives of the department and the organisation. You will prepare Postal Requisition documents, process electronic case files and digital media and be the first line contact in answering and resolving day to day queries and problems with minimal referral to team leaders.

You will also be required to communicate with defendants verbally and in writing when progressing their Biometric Appointments liaising with external forces and other business partners, including the responsibility for maintaining the appointment diaries across all custody suites.

You will need to have a good standard of education and recent experience of working in an administrative role with relevant experience of partner agency working, together with proven written and verbal communication skills. The ability to use your own initiative and problem solve within a team environment, whilst maintaining attention to detail is essential together with proven time management and organisational skills.

The ability to travel is considered essential as you may have to travel to different locations in order to undertake assignments in a timely manner and work flexibly. Due to unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working public transport may not be suitable. For this reason, a full driving licence is considered essential for this role.

If you are a permanent member of staff applying for this role, please note it will be offered on a secondment basis.
Important: All secondments must be supported in writing by your Line Manager and Head of Department/Commander or Deputy. Please attach written approval from your line manager and Head of Department in your application. If the secondment is not supported then the role may be offered on a fixed term contract basis, but this has implications including loss of continuous service protections.

Please note: Shift allowance, on-call or other job-related allowances from the previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role for the duration of the secondment.
