Finance Assistant

Reed Accountancy are pleased to be partnering with a North Oxfordshire client who are seeking a Finance Assistant to join their friendly and collaborative Finance Team. Working as part of a close knit team, you will play a key role in maintaining the sales ledger, managing customer accounts, and ensuring outstanding debts are collected efficiently while delivering excellent customer service.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Proactively manage debt collection activities and maintain an accurate debtor ledger.
• Chase outstanding debts via telephone, email and written correspondence.
• Complete and submit credit insurance reports.
• Monitor and maintain debtor days in line with company targets.
• Process and allocate customer payments accurately.
• Issue customer statements and provide copy documentation when required.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and account queries.
• Manage credit account applications, conduct credit checks and agree appropriate credit terms.
• Prepare weekly debt reports for senior stakeholders and the finance team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
