Position Summary
The Part‑time SHRM‑CP Instructor will teach an in‑person SHRM‑CP certification preparation course at the Kilgore College campus (evening hours – hours vary). This role is ideal for seasoned HR practitioners who enjoy teaching, mentoring, and sharing real‑world experience in an academic setting. The instructor also assists the instructional leader and other administrative personnel in activities designed to enhance the effectiveness of the instructional process and to support the mission of the College.
PositionResponsibilities
- Deliver engaging, practical instruction aligned with the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge (BASK)
- Keep abreast of developments in the discipline and in instructional methodology
- Support and participate in appropriate professional development programs and activities
- Support and adhere to the academic policies and procedures of the college, the division, and the department
- Develop, maintain, and follow syllabi for courses
- Communicate with the appropriate chair and/or dean as to the need for instructional materials, equipment, and professional development
- Maintain a harmonious and collegial relationship with other members of the faculty and staff
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance
- Expectations for this position may include the following: teach evenings (non‑peak times); use instructional technology in the classroom
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- SHRM‑CP or SHRM‑SCP certification.
- Three to five plus years of professional HR experience
- Experience in corporate training, facilitation, or instruction
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a typical classroom/instructional lab environment and get along in a courteous and professional manner with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students.
- The rate of pay $50 per hour.

- Background check required prior to offer of employment.
- Proof of employment authorization and identity must be submitted within three days of hire; failure to submit within the required time shall result in immediate employment termination.
