Experienced Printing Press Operator (Kilgore, TX)
This is a day or night 12‑hour shift schedule. Here is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for a challenging opportunity with a growing company.
Responsibilities- Work responsibly in a safe manner, following all safe operating procedures and posted requirements.
- Follow work guidelines and adhere to all company policies.
- Sustain productivity and quality standards.
- Handle products according to customer specifications and the company's production standards.
- Stage printed rolls in conversion.
- Load/Unload ink chambers and trays from the machine.
- Set/Adjust impression, registration, and web guide.
- Responsible for all machine adjustments and job set‑ups.
- Handle and store wastewater and all inks properly.
- Observe rolls for splices and changes.
- Record accurate production pounds, including footage, downtime, scrap, roll run numbers, and complete dockets.
- Maintain a clean and neat workstation per American Institute of Baking requirements.
- Perform other general housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Set and change print cylinders, sleeves, Anilox, and chambers on printing decks.
- Identify color variations on printed products and/or film and adjust as needed.
- Learn how to remount plates, make plate adjustments press side, and how build‑up plates so they will print.
- Learn how to trim plates and/or apply tape to get rid of plate marks.
- Complete assigned tasks as instructed by the supervisor.
- Experience running flexographic printing presses preferred.
- A High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to read and understand instructions well.
- Ability to work 12‑hour shifts.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English required.
- Basic math skills — addition, subtraction, and multiplication to record accurate reports and mix ink.
- Basic computer skills.
- Writing skills — adequate for legible and accurate recording of production reports and other pertinent information.
- Be able to pass a color‑blindness test.
