Korzen Health seeks a part-time Wound Care Physician to serve as the Medical Director and Collaborating Physician for our Wound Care Clinic in the Lampasas/Killeen, TX area.

For over 25 years, Healogics has been treating patients with chronic wounds from over 600 hospital-based wound care centers across the country. Currently, Healogics treats over 300,000 wound care patients annually and has healed nearly 4 million wounds. Healogics is the world's leading expert in wound healing.

This position is based in our outpatient wound care clinic and is exclusively dedicated to procedural wound care. Standard working hours are during the daytime, typically averaging approximately 40 hours per week. This role does not require night shifts, on-call duties, holiday work, or weekend hours. PRN shifts will depend on current provider availability/PTO. All patients are seen by appointment only;

walk-ins are not accepted. The clinic is integrated with our partner facility, and the candidate will be employed by Healogics.

This is a procedure-oriented environment primarily serving geriatric patients. The successful candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in their core specialty and possess a strong procedural background with recent experience. Experience with minor procedures such as suturing and incision and drainage (I&D) is required, and procedural case logs will be requested as part of the credentialing process. Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) Therapy training are available.

A full clinical team will be in place from the start date.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a physician leader responsible for the clinical, operational, and financial results of their Wound Care Center®.
  • Serve as liaison with affiliated medical institutions for services required such as hospitalization and emergency medical services.
  • Participate in regional and national conference(s) related to wound care improvement or new wound care information.
  • Ensure appropriate HBO chamber quality and safety, including appropriate documentation of approved indications, physician supervision requirements, and presence of appropriately trained safety director appointed for the Hyperbaric Unit.
  • Provide continuing wound care education to the staff and community, including new advances in wound healing and new product reviews.
  • Provide regular formal presentations to various audiences (i.e., medical staff meetings, hospital department meetings, grand rounds presentations, local medical and community organizations, service clubs, etc.) to enhance visibility of the WCC® and support local medical and community education and awareness.
  • Actively schedule and participate in one-on-one discussions about the wound care program with primary care and surgical specialties.
  • Act as spokesperson for wound care program services when local media opportunities arise.
  • Build appropriate relationships with interdisciplinary specialties to ensure appropriate and timely consultative patient care needs.
  • Engage in self-development through corporate training and coaching, and through participation with professional associations.
  • Medical Directorship duties(up to 10 hours per month), Collaborative for our NP and PRN to work in the Wound Care Center (optional).
  • This can be paid as a W2 or 1099 Stipend each month.

Requirements
:

  • MD or DO
  • Must be Board-Certified a Core Speciality ie. Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery etc...
  • DEA license obtained prior to start
  • ACLS/BLS
