Job Description
The Recruitment Specialist serves as a front-line representative of Texas A&M University–Central Texas (TAMUCT) and plays a pivotal role in executing the University’s strategic enrollment plan. The position focuses on identifying, developing, and sustaining partnerships that expand access to TAMUCT across the Central Texas region. The incumbent cultivates relationships with Independent School Districts (ISDs), Early College High Schools (ECHS), and community colleges to create seamless recruitment pathways, leads and participates in recruitment events, manages student communication, and supports the conversion of prospective students through each stage of the admissions funnel—from inquiry to enrollment.

Responsibilities- Identifies, develops, and manages relationships with ISDs, ECHS programs, community colleges, and community-based organizations to strengthen recruitment pipelines.
- Serves as the primary liaison for assigned regional partners and promotes transfer and first‑year student opportunities through coordinated outreach.
- Conducts regular visits, presentations, and on‑site engagements to increase awareness of TAMUCT programs.
- Collaborates with educational partners to coordinate joint initiatives, articulation pathways, and on‑site application events.
- Plans, coordinates, and participates in recruitment events including college fairs, information sessions, campus previews, and community outreach events.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strategic event representation aligned with enrollment goals.
- Oversees logistical planning, setup, and follow‑up for all assigned events, ensuring professional representation and data collection accuracy.
- Works collaboratively with marketing and admissions teams to support targeted campaigns promoting institutional visibility.
- Manages prospective student communications using the university’s CRM system to provide timely, personalized follow‑up.
- Counsels prospective students on admissions requirements, academic programs, financial aid, and next steps to support their transition from inquiry to applicant and admitted student.
- Monitors conversion metrics and leverages data to adjust outreach strategies within assigned territories.
- Analyzes data collected from students prior to the start of recruitment season and applies necessary changes specific areas to assist with recruitment.
- Prepares regular reports summarizing outreach activities, events, and yield progress.
- Shares insights and best practices to support continuous improvement across the recruitment team.
- Participates in divisional meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities.
- Supports institutional initiatives and other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director or Director of Recruitment & Enrollment Services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Knowledge of admissions functions of higher education. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of related experience.
- Experience in community college recruitment, partnership coordination, or transfer student outreach; experience managing a territory and CRM-based communication strategy.
$43,888
HoursMonday – Friday; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Requires occasional evening and weekend hours to support university events and recruitment initiatives.
Supervision of OthersThis position does not supervise employees.
Work LocationThis is not a remote position. The selected candidate will be required to work on‑site and may travel frequently within the assigned recruitment territory and surrounding areas.
