Registered Nurse
Join Pain Specialists of America, a Texas‑based multisite comprehensive pain management company with 15+ locations, including ambulatory surgery centers, ASCs and a laboratory in New Braunfels. PSA is expanding rapidly and seeks a compassionate, highly competent Registered Nurse to support our ambulatory surgery center.

- Prepare patient care area and ensure necessary equipment and supplies
- Demonstrate proper airway management techniques
- Monitor patients (vital signs, temperature, cardiac, etc.)
- Perform and document insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks
- Conduct head‑to‑toe evaluations using approved scoring systems
- Check dressings and operative sites, report abnormalities to surgeon
- Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and families
- Ensure patients meet discharge criteria and follow physician orders
- Apply knowledge, skill and judgment to deliver excellent patient care
- Promote accurate recording of medications and treatments
- Execute post‑anesthesia continuous assessment, documentation, and communication of vital data
- Measure patient progress toward outcomes, revise care plan as needed
- Report significant observations to physician, anesthesiologist, or CRNA
- Assess patient response immediately post‑operatively, perform appropriate interventions
- Promote improvement of nursing care within the Center
- Maintain a stock of supplies, equipment, and medications; manage emergency cart
- Evaluate co‑workers’ performance and report improvement needs
- Follow chain of command, communicate reportable situations promptly
- Maintain confidentiality of management information
- Adhere to Center policies and notify supervisor of deviations
- Assist in new employee orientation
- Accept counseling and corrective action positively
- Know Center’s Fire, Safety, and Disaster Plan
- Practice cost‑effective material management
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing school
- Current registration with the Texas Board of Nursing
- Evidence of current BLS certification
- Evidence of current ACLS certification (or within 6 months of hire)
- 1+ years of Registered Nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably PACU, ICU or Surgery
Position Requirements
- Maintain satisfactory attendance and notify supervisor if unable to report to work
- Be punctual for assigned shifts
- Follow facility and regulatory policies & procedures
- Respect patient cultural and religious beliefs
- Ability to lift 20 lbs, move/transfer up to 50 lbs, assist with >100 lbs
- Stand for extended periods
- Fine motor skills
- Visual acuity and other visual requirements
