My client, a well-respected accountancy firm based in Kilmarnock, is looking for a confident, capable Bookkeeper to join their friendly, close-knit team. The company specialises in supporting small, family-run businesses across the agricultural sector, from sole traders to limited companies.

This position will play a key role in delivering efficient, accurate bookkeeping services and supporting clients with digital tax compliance.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing VAT returns and financial accounts
• Assisting with payroll and PAYE
• Processing digital tax submissions (Making Tax Digital - MTD)
• Handling purchase invoices, credit notes, and ledgers
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
• Managing payment runs in line with company policies
• Supporting general finance admin tasks and liaising with clients

• Experienced in bookkeeping, accountancy, and taxation
• Confident using Xero
• Familiar with Making Tax Digital (MTD) processes
• Comfortable supporting payroll
• Ideally experienced in accountancy practice (not essential)
• A team player who enjoys a supportive, sociable work culture
• Loyal, trustworthy, and committed to building long-term professional relationships
• A background in agriculture is desirable but not required
