Position:

An opportunity has arisen to join the Surgical Division Management Team as the Assistant General Manager for Cancer Services, Plastic Surgery and Breast Surgery based at University Hospital Crosshouse
. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

Hours:

37 hours per week.

From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

What you will do:

Working as a key member of NHSAA’s Lead Cancer Team, the successful candidate will operate across Acute Services to monitor and report on cancer performance and to support services to improve cancer pathways for the benefit of our patients. Excellent working relationships will need to be fostered with stakeholders outwith NHSAA’s Acute Services including with colleagues in Primary Care and the HSCPs, in other West of Scotland Boards and in Scottish Government.

As the Assistant General Manager with responsibility for Breast Surgery and Plastic Surgery, you will be expected to work closely with the clinical teams to deliver these services, ensuring quality and performance targets are met and contributing to the clinical, financial and staff governance of the Surgical Division.
